The first ‘State of the Environment Report for Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes’ was completed in 2016. The report looks at Buckinghamshire’s environmental assets, how we use them and benefit from them, and provides a baseline record of key indicators, with trend data where possible. The report will be used to direct future monitoring and resource priorities.

Bedfordshire Greensand Ridge: Letter of Support

The NEP has produced a letter of support to endorse the Bedfordshire Greensand Ridge as a Nature Improvement Area.

In conjunction with its experts and Partners across the sectors, the NEP has approved a new ‘Vision for Green Infrastructure in Buckinghamshire’, including Milton Keynes, along with a set of 9 Principles which should be followed to achieve the Vision by 2030. The Vision and Principles act as a refresh and supplement to the 2009 GI Strategy for Buckinghamshire.

Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes NEP: Response to the Draft Wycombe District and Draft Aylesbury Vale Local Plans

NEP has prepared a response to the draft Local Plan consultation for Wycombe District, prior to the consultation deadline. The response sets out amendments that, if made, would bring the Local Plan into line with the NEP’s “Vision and Principles for the Improvement of Green Infrastructure in Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes.” The response is available here.

Update: The NEP response to the Vale of Aylesbury Local Plan (VALP) has been prepared and is now available to view.

The ‘Buckinghamshire Energy Strategy’ was approved by the NEP Board on the 15th April 2015.

The ‘Forward to 2020: Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Biodiversity Action Plan’ was approved by the NEP Board on the 16th January 2015.

In October 2015, a letter was delivered to the Parliamentary under Secretary of State on behalf of all 48 LNPs for consideration on how LNPs can contribute to the Government’s biodiversity core objectives ahead of the launch of DEFRAs 25 year Environment Framework.
